A wheat or rice reaper is a harvesting implement that harvests the rice or wheat panicles at the time of harvest. These panicles are then laid down for the purpose of collection. A wheat/rice reaper is mounted to a Massey Ferguson tractor. A reaper not only cuts the panicles of crops but also gathers them. Generally a reaper of 1.5m can work at a rate of 2−4 ha per day.
